Kim’s passion for community leadership is rooted in the desire to help build sustainable change from the inside out. She believes that joining boards is one of the most effective ways to influence systems, elevate voices that are often overlooked, and contribute to long-term impact within underserved communities. For Kim, being part of a board isn’t just about governance — it’s about showing up, being accountable, and actively creating space for transformation.

In alignment with that mission, Kim was appointed Board Chair at BTC Be The Change in 2024 — a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving African, Caribbean, and Black communities across Peel, Simcoe, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Since 2020, BTC has delivered a mix of virtual programs and in-person events that help youth and their families develop strong cultural identity, boost self-esteem, and navigate personal and educational growth with confidence.

As Board Chair, Kim leads the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring programs are impactful and responsive to the needs of the community. She also oversees key branding, marketing, and partnership initiatives that strengthen BTC’s presence and reach. With a background in leadership, creative strategy, and youth development, Kim brings a unique ability to connect vision with execution.

She remains open to joining other boards and advisory teams that align with her values, where she can continue to drive meaningful change and contribute to a more empowered future for all.
